Welcome to the Slanting N

Andy, when I was a cute little kid... so I'm told
Trust me, you wouldn’t want to see me now, so this is me back in the 70s

My name is Andy I am glad you have stopped by to read my blog and hopefully find what you are looking for. But first a little about me (if you want to know more about my spiritual journey please read my testimony). I am a Brit, born towards the start of the 70s and have spent the majority of my life living in the same town I grew up in. Part of that growing up saw me spend the first 21/22 years of my life going to church and in my teens becoming a part of the church’s youth team. But during my early 20s I dropped out of church, for a variety of reasons, and tried living life according to my own rules. It didn’t work out and back in 2017 I found myself at a low point and reconnecting with my faith, in fact reconnecting with my faith in a much deeper way than I had ever experienced when I was younger.

So what is the Slanting N (if you want to know the story behind the name click here)? Well whilst I don’t plan to put a cap on what it could become at the moment it is about three things.

  • My journey as a Christian, especially reconnecting with my faith as an adult and what I learn from the Bible.
  • Having seen both sides of life as a young Christian and then as someone trying to be a success under his own power I have learned a few life lessons, more so since reconnecting with my faith as God has allowed me to understand some of what I have gone through.
  • Movies – ever since I can remember I have loved movies and for the past few years have written reviews for a website which I own called The Movie Scene. But not only must I say that many of the reviews on The Movie Scene were written when I wasn’t connected with my faith but since then I have found myself more interested in movies which have teachable moments and an uplifting nature which is what you will find me reviewing on the Slanting-N.

Anyway, that is what you will find on the Slanting N and I am confident under God’s guidance this blog will grow and change. But I am appreciative of every single one of you who visit this blog and I hope you will become regular readers, finding help and guidance in what I write and sharing it with others.

Psalm 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
